We Mavericks Band | Live at ONEONESIX

Catch We Mavericks live at ONEONESIX Theatre in Whangārei on Sunday 2 November 2025 for an evening of unforgettable music and connection.

We Mavericks, a trans-Tasman duo, know how to build a powerful bond with their audiences. They mix soulful vocals, effortless strings, and driving rhythms to create a sound that is both unique and compelling. Listeners often describe their music as contemp-folk, alt-country, or acoustic-pop. However, no single label truly reflects the heartfelt way they hold an audience from the first note to the last.

Right now, the duo are touring their brand-new album Heart of Silver. The release has already earned wide acclaim and several major achievements. For example, they received nominations for Best Folk Artist at both the Aotearoa Music Awards and the Australian Folk Music Awards. In addition, rave reviews from the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand highlight their growing international reputation. As a result, We Mavericks have become festival favourites and a must-see live act.

The heart of the group is Victoria Vigenser (NZ) and Lindsay Martin (AU). Together, they deliver a dynamic mix of energy and emotion. Vigenser transforms everyday phrases into striking metaphors, while Martin draws a full spectrum of feeling from his violin and guitar. Moreover, this tour features two outstanding guests: Rachel Johnston (NZ) and Trent Arkleysmith (AU). Both are internationally recognised cellists and multi-instrumentalists. Their contributions bring added depth, richness, and power to the performance.

In the end, these four musicians combine their talents to create a rare and moving musical experience—one that reaches straight into the soul and stays with you long after the final note.

Audiences and critics around the world are impressed:

“…an undoubted masterclass in music delivery and songwriting” – Fatea Magazine, UK
“The violin cries for her and the harmony vocals are divine…” – 13th Floor, NZ
“…an impressive dynamic” – Sounds of South, Germany
“…the glorious harmonies and touching melodies of We Mavericks… Together they craft exquisite folk music” – Ambient Light, NZ
“Simply wow!” – Die Rheinpfalz, Germany
