ON Location: Dance, Sense, and Create is a one-day workshop inviting you to explore dance, place, and improvisation in the lush surrounds of the Whangārei Quarry Gardens.
Sat 22 Nov 2025, 10:00am–4:00pm
Through guided movement tasks and improvisation, we’ll explore how dance can emerge from the textures, shapes, and sounds of the environment — from the curve of a pathway to the rhythm of birdsong. Together, we’ll move, sense, and respond to place in an open, creative atmosphere.

All levels welcome — from beginners to experienced dancers. No previous dance experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to explore.

🕊️ Please note:
This is a full-day workshop that includes group and location-based activities. To support your fellow movers, please commit to attending the full day.
Children aged 10+ are welcome if participating alongside an adult.
Bring a friend: Come explore, move, connect, and be inspired with dance in the Quarry Gardens.
