Great Plate 2026 | Quarry Arts Centre
Since 2008, The Great Plate has supported important projects at the Quarry — from building our Phoenix soda kiln to ongoing improvements in our pottery facilities. With the support of contributing artists, we’re now raising funds for ceramics equipment to further improve our Community Pottery Room.
For 2026, we’re inviting a wide range of artistic mediums—including ceramics, textiles, painting, sculpture, and more—to continue building on this legacy of creativity and collaboration.
Your plate will be displayed and auctioned, with 100% of the proceeds going toward ceramics equipment to further improve our Community Pottery Room.
As a participating artist, your plate will also be featured on our social media platforms—along with your name, Instagram handle, website, and TradeMe auction link—giving your work added visibility while supporting a meaningful cause.
Important Dates to Remember:
- Pick up bisque plates: From Friday 12th June | 10am – 4:30pm | Quarry Arts Centre
- Plate delivery deadline: Friday 2nd October | 9:30am – 4:30pm
- (If posting your plate, please send at your own expense.)
- Please deliver your plate with your name clearly marked on the plate or packaging.
- Photography & catalogue: Monday 5th – Thursday 15th October
- Exhibition installation: Monday 19th – Thursday 22nd October
- Opening Night: Thursday 22nd October | 5pm – 7pm
- Exhibition Dates: Friday 23rd October – Wednesday 4th November 2026
- Trade Me Auction opens: Thursday 22nd October | 6pm
- Trade Me Auction closes: Thursday 29th October
- Date to collect plates purchased at auction: Saturday 7th November 9:30am – 4:30pm
- Exhibition closes: Wed 4th November
- Great Plate pack-down: Thursday 5th, Friday 6th November
