SUMMARY:Springboard Music Showcase | All Ages
DESCRIPTION:Springboard 2025 Round 2 is here! \nMusic from a range of rangatahi artists sharing their talent live on stage. \nThis events line up: \nBANDWIDTH RIOT \nBandwidth Riot is a 4 piece\, high-energy Kiwi Alt-Rock band gaining national attention with their raw\, immersive\, live preformances. Winners of the Far North Smokefreerockquest\, the band has opened and played along side iconic acts including Hello Sailor\, Coast Arcade\, Sonar Flare\, and Troy Kingi. Their growing momentum has earned them features on RNZ’s Morning Report and in the Northern Advocate\, cementing Bandwidth Riot as one of Aotearoa’s most exciting up-and-coming rock acts. \nHIT ME \nHIT ME is a five piece band formed in June of 2024. Consisting of lead singer Ivy Taylor (17)\, lead guitarist Toby Hamilton (18)\, bassist Vienna (17)\, rhythm guitarist Liam Dickeson (18) and drummer George Sherwood (18). They write originals and are currently working on their latest project\, as of now\, they have one single available on Spotify\, Apple Music and other platforms as a demo. They play fast and they play hard. Taking inspiration from the likes of the Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys\, to those more alternative like Bauhaus and The Damned\, their live shows are full of energy and crowd engagement. The lead singer\, Ivy moves across the stage throughout performances and band members have great chemistry on stage. These musicians love what they do and their goal is to share that joy with others through their art. \nHIBISCUS \nHibiscus is a 2 piece indie band from Whangarei formed just this year!! It consists of Otis Langridge (guitar) and Phoenix Wood (Vocals). They mostly play for fun but this would be their first real gig and opportunity to shine! They play a lot of indie and alternative music mostly doing covers with a possible original here and there. At Springboard they will be playing an entirely acoustic and chill set\, focusing on covers of bands such as; Neil Young\, Sticky Fingers and more well known acts such as Nirvana. \nGet along to support these fantastic rangatahi bands and be a part of the youth music scene in Whangārei! \nAll Ages\, alcohol and drug free event. \n  \n
